AI Tools for Every Chapter of Her Life

ISSUE 25    TWENTY-FIVE ISSUES IN (AND I’M A LITTLE SHOCKED I’M STILL HERE)

I’ll be honest: I did not fully expect to still be doing this 25 issues in.

Starting a newsletter is one of those things that’s easy to commit to in a burst of motivation and much harder to actually sustain, week after week, especially while also consulting and running a household and generally trying to hold a life together. But here we are. Twenty-five issues, about five and a half months, and somehow this is still the thing I look forward to writing every week.

A lot has changed since Issue 01. When I started this newsletter, I was explaining to people what ChatGPT even was. Now I can’t get through a conversation with a friend without someone mentioning Claude, or Gemini, or whatever new AI tool just launched. The skepticism hasn’t gone away, and honestly, some of it is fair. The controversy is real and ongoing. But something has shifted. My friends aren’t asking ‘should I try AI’ anymore. They’re telling me how it’s already changed how they shop, plan trips, research a medical question before an appointment, or draft something for work. It went from a curiosity to just part of how people operate, faster than I expected.

I wanted to take a week to step back from the prompts and talk honestly about where this is, what I’ve learned, and what’s next.

WHAT I’VE LEARNED WRITING THIS

When I started, I thought this would mostly be about teaching women how to use ChatGPT. Twenty-five issues in, I’ve realized it’s actually about something a little different: giving women permission to use a tool without guilt, without feeling like they need to be a tech person, and without it replacing the actual relationships and professionals in their lives.

The issues that seem to resonate most aren’t the ones with the cleverest prompts. They’re the ones where I’m honest about the parts of midlife that are genuinely hard. The perimenopause fog nobody warned us about. The aging parent conversation nobody prepared us for. The side hustle that turns into a second unpaid job. I think that’s the actual value of this newsletter. Not the AI tips alone, but the AI tips wrapped in the reality that we’re all just trying to figure this stage of life out, together.

WHERE WE ARE

Twenty-five issues published. A real, growing community of women who read this every Tuesday, forward it to friends, and tell me it’s become part of their week. That still means more than I know how to fully express in a newsletter.

What I want more of: your stories. If a prompt in this newsletter has genuinely changed how you handle something, hit reply and tell me. I read every single one, even if I don’t always have time to respond individually.

THE ASK

If HerAILife has been useful to you, here are the ways that actually help:

💡Three ways to help right now:

1. Forward this email to one woman who needs it. The signup link is news.herailife.com

2. Follow along on Instagram, @her_ai_life, or Facebook at facebook.com/herailife, and engage with anything that resonates

3. Share the link anywhere you already are: a group chat, a text, a DM. One share genuinely does go further than you’d think

WHAT’S COMING

The next stretch of issues heads into fall in a real way: family scheduling, strength training and bone health, a meal planning system that’s actually different from what we covered in Issue 01, the perimenopause conversation getting a fresh look given how much attention it’s finally getting publicly, and then the holiday season, which I have a feeling is going to need its own multi-part approach given how much mental load that season carries.

Longer term, I keep coming back to the idea that this newsletter should eventually help you move from using AI one prompt at a time to having it actually run quietly in the background of your life. That’s still where I want this to go. We’re not there yet. But every issue is a step in that direction.

OFF THE RECORD

“Twenty-five issues in and I still open every single one wondering if anyone will read it. The imposter syndrome does not appear to be time-limited.”

⚠️ A quick note: AI is a starting point, not a final answer — especially for health and financial topics. Always verify important information and consult a qualified professional before making medical, legal, or financial decisions. AI can be wrong, and that's okay as long as you know it.
