AI Tools for Every Chapter of Her Life

ISSUE 21    WHAT DO YOU WANT FALL TO LOOK LIKE?

There’s a specific feeling that shows up in late August. Not quite back-to-school panic yet — that’s still a week or two out. This is the quieter one. The one where the light changes slightly, the air loses some of its thickness, and some old, familiar part of your brain goes: okay, summer is winding down… what’s next?

I think it’s leftover school-year wiring. Fall has always felt like the real new year to me, more than January ever has. January asks you to make resolutions in the coldest, darkest, least motivated weeks of the calendar. Fall asks you when the energy is actually there. New schedules. New notebooks. A genuine sense of a fresh chapter starting, whether or not you have kids in school anymore.

This issue isn’t about a plan for the next four months. It’s about the question underneath that feeling: what do you actually want this fall to look like? Not what everyone else needs from you — the school schedules, the fall activities calendar, the holidays already looming on the horizon. What do you want?

AI is unexpectedly good at helping you sit with a question like that and actually get somewhere with it.

THE REFLECTION PROMPT

Before You Plan Anything, Get Honest

Most fall planning starts with logistics — the calendar, the carpools, the commitments. Useful, but not the best place to start. Start with an honest look at where you actually are.

 ❖ TRY THIS PROMPT ❖

“I want to reflect on this year so far before I plan the fall. Help me think through:

1. What has felt good this year — energizing, aligned, worth repeating?

2. What has felt draining or misaligned that I want less of going forward?

3. What did I start this year that I never finished, and does it still matter to me?

4. What would I regret not doing before the year ends?

Ask me follow-up questions if my answers are vague — I want this to actually get somewhere, not just be a surface-level check-in.”

💡The last line matters:

Left alone, AI will accept a vague answer and move on. Told to push, it will actually push.

THE ENERGY AUDIT

Where Is Your Time Actually Going

Before adding anything new to fall, it’s worth understanding where your current time and energy already go because most of us are operating at capacity, and ‘what do I want fall to look like’ often really means ‘what am I willing to let go of to make room for something new.’

 ❖ TRY THIS PROMPT ❖

“Help me do an honest energy audit of my current life.

My typical week includes: [list your commitments — work, kids’ activities, household management, social obligations, etc.].

For each one, help me think through: does this energize me, drain me, or feel neutral? Which of these are truly non-negotiable vs. things I’ve just always done without questioning? If I wanted to make room for one new thing this fall, what’s the most realistic thing to let go of or scale back?”

💡The ‘always done without questioning’ question is the important one:

A lot of what fills our lives isn’t a decision — it’s inertia. Ask AI to specifically flag anything that sounds like it’s been running on autopilot rather than active choice.

THE ACTUAL REINVENTION PART

One New Thing, Not Ten

Fall energy has a way of making everyone overcommit — new hobby, new side project, new workout routine, new everything, all starting the same week. It rarely sticks. One meaningful new thing, chosen deliberately, has a much better track record than five started in a burst of September motivation.

 ❖ TRY THIS PROMPT ❖

“I want to add one meaningful new thing to my life this fall — not a resolution, something real.

I’m drawn to: [list anything you’ve been curious about — a class, a hobby, a project, a habit, a goal].

My constraints: [time available per week, budget, family commitments].

Help me:

1. Narrow this down to one realistic option given my actual life

2. Build a low-friction way to start — the smallest possible first step

3. Anticipate what will make me quit by week three and build in a way to avoid that

4. Tell me how to know in 90 days whether this was worth keeping”

THE CAREER PIECE

For Those in a Slower Season Right Now

If you’re in a career transition, or thinking about one, or just have more mental space now that summer chaos is winding down, fall is often when that thinking gets real. Not necessarily action yet. Just clarity.

 ❖ TRY THIS PROMPT ❖

“I’ve been thinking about my career direction and fall feels like the right season to get clearer on it.

Here’s where I am: [describe your current situation — considering a change, feeling stuck, curious about something new, etc.].

Help me think through:

1. What questions should I be asking myself right now, before making any moves?

2. What would it look like to explore this quietly over the next few months without blowing up my current situation?

3. What’s one low-risk way to test whether this direction is actually right for me?”

OFF THE RECORD

“I asked myself what I wanted fall to look like. The honest answer involved fewer commitments and more naps. AI agreed this was valid.”

YOUR ASSIGNMENT THIS WEEK

Answer the question before you plan anything.

Run the reflection prompt. Sit with what comes back. Don’t jump straight to a to-do list. The point right now is clarity, not action.

Fall will ask a lot of you soon enough. Before it does, figure out what you’re actually asking of it.

POWER USER — for when you’re ready to go deeper

Build Your Fall Intention Document

“I want to build a fall intention document for myself — not a rigid plan, something I can return to and adjust. Based on:

What I want more of this fall: [from your reflection]

What I want less of: [from your energy audit]

The one new thing I’m adding: [from your reinvention prompt]

My non-negotiables that stay the same: [list]

Build me a one-page document with:

1. Three words that capture the feeling I want this season to have

2. My top 3 priorities for the next 3 months

3. What success looks like by Thanksgiving

4. A monthly check-in question I’ll ask myself to stay honest about whether I’m actually living this out”

Keep this somewhere you’ll actually see it. Not because a document changes anything by itself, but because a felt intention you can return to is a very different thing than a vague feeling that faded by mid-September.

⚠️ A quick note: AI is a starting point, not a final answer — especially for health and financial topics. Always verify important information and consult a qualified professional before making medical, legal, or financial decisions. AI can be wrong, and that's okay as long as you know it.
